Gaza – The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that there are 134 Indonesian citizens living in the Israel-Palestine conflict zone. The largest number of Indonesians are in Sapir, southern Israel, with 94 Indonesians.

Director of Indonesian Citizen Protection at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Judha Nugraha said that 10 Indonesians are living in Gaza and 39 in the West Bank. The figure is based on the latest data.

“So in total, there are 143 Indonesian citizens living. This is the latest data,” Nugraha said at his office on Friday.
Nugraha explained that since the beginning of the war, Indonesia has immediately coordinated intensely with related parties. Each Indonesian Embassy representative also coordinates intensively with partners in their respective accreditation countries.

“We have communicated with the Indonesian Embassy in Amman, the Indonesian Embassy in Cairo, the Indonesian Embassy in Beirut, the Indonesian Embassy in Damascus, and the Indonesian Embassy in New York, since October 7, 2023,” Nugraha informed.

Nugraha also said that his office is working on a plan to evacuate Indonesian citizens who are in conflict areas. “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs had prepared several options by prioritizing humanitarian channels,”
“So we are not only preparing one scenario because the situation on the ground is very difficult. We open various options, later in its implementation depending on which one is better.” Nugraha concluded.
